a simple rear bumper question

this thing on the rear of my HSE has never looked like it is on correctly, Ive had the car 5 years and still ponder over it Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Trouble is if I got down on the ground to investigate, I probably wouldnt get up again Big Cry

Can anyone answer me this, how is it attached, would taking it off and 're-seating' it fix the look of it ?

Not got that on my 63 plate - I’ve got a towing eye in that position, visible rather than behind any panel, so perhaps that’s what you have behind there? Other than that there’s nothing on my rear bumper other than reflectors

I presume that's part of the HST rear bumper kit, and covers the rear towing eye.

You can see it in this video at around 9 minutes in

Either the towing eye cover is broken or it hasn’t been fitted correctly. In the video it shows them using quite a lot of force to get the top to click in.

It maybe the angle you have taken the photo at but from the photo you can’t see the whole of the red reflector.

As has been said its the towing eye cover on the HST/Sport/Dynamic body kit, its just a clip on/clip off cover so you just need to take it off, check the condition of the clips and fixings and clip back in place. No tools required but may need a well placed good whack with the palm of your hand to reseat it.

thanks RogB, just went out and whacked it a few times, I could here rust or other bits falling off, but its still the same, I will try and get someone younger to get down there and undo the 2 screws and try and reseat it. 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

I think it needs to be removed first to check the clips aren't broken and mis-aligned and/or full of crud. Jules
