OK did the front pads last night. I took some time to work out how to do it and was a little surprised that the genuine Landrover pads have Ford written all over them, as do the brake calipers.
once i'd got hold of the 7mm allen key needed to remove the sliding part of the caliper it took abut 10 minutes a side.
i measured the remaining pads material it was 4.5mm thick after 48000 miles.

Since Ford only recently sold to Tata, I'm not surprised, as a lot of cars owned by the same company cross share components. Aston Martin...Ford parts bin anyone?

Anyway, just wanted to comment that the brakes are very sharp and bite very quickly, compared to other cars I've owned/driven. Could this increase the wear rate on the pads? Phil

Quick question regarding pads... I suppose I could check the car manual, but I assume there is a warning light that comes on when the pad wear is low?

I don't think there is a warning light just a audible warning from the spring on the pads touching the disc , very loud apparently but not damaging. The Pads cost about £110 for the complete st so not worth risking really. Thumbs Up
