Isn’t there an adjustment available for day/night/auto setting? Believe it’s accessed using the instrument panel menu (mode button on steering wheel) rather than the satnav screen itself |

Do day or night settings make any difference? You may just need to play about with various settings with lights on, off etc |

it seems to work ok in night mode does anyone know where the sensor is that turns night mode on so I can cover it up to see if that cures the problem |

Is there a difference if you turn the instrument lights brighter |

My display is dimmable - using the rotary control on the dash to the R of the steering wheel - there is a slight delay in the display responding Jules |

the exterior light sensor is the little dome in the centre of the dash at the base of the windscreen, you should see a change in the screen brightness if you cover it up. You can then use the dash dimmer switch on the right of the steering wheel to adjust that brightness. at least i think thats how it should work ![]() |

Ok tried covering the dome thing and the sensor where the rear view mirror is I put some cloth on both and did nothing I think the sat nav light sensor must be elsewhere if anyone knows where it is on a 2014 model let me know thank you |

There is a small rectangular sensor on the panel to the left of the clock below the screen which is the light sensor. |

That's the solar strength sensor for the AC. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone. Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver. 1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project. |

does it only link to the AC then? knew it did that but though it was the light sensor for dimming the dash too. |

@lanerider - does your rotary control not affect the display as well as the dash lighting ? Jules |
