Hi - read with interest the recommendations regarding towing mirrors. I am having some trouble trying to understand the rules that govern the fitting of mirrors. I tried the mirrors that I first used on my previous FL1's and yes whilst they obviously stick out further on either side of the vehicle, I don't feel that they offer me any real benefit to rearward/side vision over the standard fit mirrors already on the FL2. I tow a 2berth caravan with a width of 2.23metres (7feet 4inches).

I can see the front corner of my van from the standard mirrors but you need to see down the full length of the van. The best test is have your outfit in a straight line and stand at the rear corner of your van, if you cannot see your mirrors from there they are not suitable. I find the freelander 2 mirrors fine for seeing where the wheeel of your van is on a corner and for seeing what is coming up in the next lane but that's all. I have Grand Aeros attached and I can then see along the full length of both sides. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Tip ---- When you see a line of cars stuck behind you in your mirrors, pull over and let them get on with their journeys

Problem is CG if you are stuck behind a caravan it is because they don't have a freelander 2 so posting it on here won't do any good. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior Last edited by ad210358 on 7th May 2009 8:43 pm. Edited 1 time in total |
