I find the freelander much better than my old D2 with regards to splashing. The disco would put a torrent up over the bonnet. I think those spats do actually help. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I would think that would push snow as well but I am sure it works somewhat to keep smaller puddles from deluging the windshield.
