d1s Headlight bulbs? + extra lights?

Hi all, New here, Apologies if this has been covered a million times but things change in the world of tech/bulbs etc....
had my 2010 FL2 a while, came with what i presumed to be standard LR fitment d1s headlight bulbs.
1 was looking a little faded so unsure if it was the ballast or the bulbs i swapped them out for some ebay specials £25 for a pair ..
They looked great in their bright white 6000k for a while but now are bordering on useless. May aswell be hanging out the window with a AA battery powered torch from poundland.
SO, who's got the best solution without breaking the bank? LED's? or is it really worth breaking the bank for nightbreaker lazers?

ALSO
Debating extra front lighting options. I dont have the roof rails and dont really need them? What mounting options are there for not a lot of money? Very Happy

Thanks in advance

Welcome.
More info about your FL2 would be helpful.
The D1S is a HID bulb so should be really bright. AFAIK it was only fitted to the top of the range eg Metropolis or HSE.
I'm not sure why its not working well for you - its not something I've seen anyone complain about on here. Did you buy cheap unbranded HID bulbs ? (EDIT oh you did Laughing )

My SE Tech has the correct projector lens for HID but JLR saved a few pennies and used HB3 halogen bulbs instead - awful from day 1.
I've since replace the HB3s with an aftermarket HID kit - works very well and doesn't bother other drivers or MOT testers. Jules

Try a seller on Amazon called Car Rover, I am using their 6000K HID D1Ss, no issues and great value for the price.

She's a 2010 GStd4 model with 107k on clock. Smile Not messed around with it much,(my old freelander 1 2.0 diesel got messed about with and spent 90 percent of its life broken. (lift kit, bigger wheels and tyres etc) Got stuck one day in a place where even defenders couldnt get to it to get it out... anywayyyy...

This FL2 had just had Haldex, new rear diff and 4 brand new Goodyear wranglers when i got it so have left it alone except for the xtrons android screen and what i thought was being clever with "bright white" bulbs.
I kept the originals and may pop them back in if needs be.
Every bulb review i find seems to be a few years old so figured i'd ask on here if there were any suggestions.?

*EDIT*
Just found the original ones back out and realised why they looked slightly different Thud
1x philips xenstart
1x osram xenarc

I'll get me coat. Rolling with laughter
