Battery Change

I need to replace the battery on my 2012 GS. It hasn’t done bad as it’s the original!

I read somewhere the engine management system will need to relearn things….do I need to do anything specific?

TIA

On my 2007 HSE I just needed to reset the windows, everything else was fine. 2007 TD4 HSE

Some clever person on here will be able to tell you what to do. When I had a new battery I had to reset the clock and the drivers window will no longer close on a single pull on the switch - the others still do, and the passenger front door can only be opened if I press the unlock button, previously it would unlock when the handle was pulled. Nothing else appears to have changed.

For the sake of a few pounds every 9 years get Halfords to do it and it becomes their responsibility to reset anything that needs doing. They did mine earlier this year and I was more than happy. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I've replaced FL2 batteries several times and all it required was :
1) reset clock
2) reset windows - just hold each button up and down for a few extra seconds and that resets them - easy peasy. Jules

Me too but it’s important to wait until you hear the window click during reset.

Resurrection of an old thread but i'm a new owner and twice now my FL2 has flashed up low battery on the screen after starting.
I have a power pack as a back up and if i connect this into the system whilst disconnecting and replacing the battery will this negate the need for any resets or other works?
cheers all

When ever I’ve disconnected the battery the only things that need resetting are the windows. I can do that while sitting in the drivers seat with the window controls on the door. Hardly worth even getting the power pack out of the boot!

If you connect your power pack to the battery leads you won't have to reset anything, I did the same with a 12v security back up camera battery, no problem. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
