Hi, i know there has been many posts on this. I need to replace my door actuator. I have watched you tube and powerful video,s on the subject and am keen to have a go myself. Question, i have seen so many actuators for sale at varioius prices. Any where from main dealer to amazon. Opinions please on which way to go. Also i notice on the guy on youtube seems to struggle and ends up breaking things by not removing the door lock. Not the route i want to take. Having worked on the "tools" all my life i think i can tackle the job, but would welcome any hints or tips from members who have done one. Many thanks. |

It will be cheaper to just replace the motors.

I did mine last year. Not sure why but most videos do not mention removing the external door handle. On the nearside front it is impossible to do the job without removing it first. |

I replaced mine just before Christmas. The nearside rear passenger, now the nearside front passenger has started to play up.

Yet again, thank you Jules. Now im,e torn. The one on ebay as you say a good price or one through Advanced Factors at £42. plus delivery. As im,e sure others wil have experienced with ebay you pays your money and takes your choice. Yes of course cost comes into it, but given the work involved in fiting it is it safer to go with forum sponser if there is any problems. My wife says some times i think too much, but hey im,e retired so plenty of time on my hands. |
