Check your hoses first, as a split one will often give the impression the intercooler is split. Not saying it isn’t but hoses will be a bit cheaper I imagine. All alloy aftermarket ones are available & have been known to fail as well. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Many thanks for the response. It was on replacing the hoses that I noticed the oily mess in the corner of the intercooler. |
