With the mirrors already unfolded, push/force them as far forward as they will go, don’t worry they won’t break. You then have access to be able to spray the lube into the mechanism. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal. 171037Km as of 09/05/22 Superchips Bluefin Flash Nanocom Evo II (also sold) |

Unless one was facing the rear of the car… you'd then push forward towards the rear end. Pushing something in the direction one is facing is pushing forward even if the object being pushed is travelling backwards. |

I must give this a try. I replaced the driver's side mirror with a new one and it opens and closes so much more quickly than the old one on the passenger's side. |

Only drawback I find after spraying the mirrors is you always get a unsightly stain underneath the mirrors on the doors, I always use white silicone spray & always do it when the car is not going to be used & it’s kept in the garage for the lube to dry. |

But doesn’t a surgeon always stand sideways on to the patient? |
