Freelander 2 i6 Auto HSE For Sale

My folks are selling their Freelander 2. It’s an i6 HSE in Izmir Blue with the Ebony Interior. It’s a July 2007 registered car on an 07 registration. They are the 2nd owners of the car after purchasing it Guy Salmon Land Rover in Stockport where the original owner traded it in in August 2014.

Being the 3.2 straight 6 petrol it is silky smooth and has a nice rasp to it when accelerating. It’s a very, very different car to the Diesels.

The car has covered 71,912 miles (may increase slightly) and has a full service history. All of the services (excluding the last 2) have been carried out by Land Rover. The last 2 were carried out by a local Land Rover specialist. The car is currently due a service.

The power steering pipes that are known for leaking have been replaced by LR 2 years ago and are still in great condition. The car is currently shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres that are still like new tread wise. The wire that goes into the cooling fan has also been repaired as there was a fault code stored for the fan when it was serviced.

Most recent works on the car were rear brake discs, brake shoes, brake pads, both hand brake cables, and a front suspension spring.

The car has never towed in it’s life. We do have a tow bar for it that was given to me by another member on here but was never fitted. I’m more then happy to pass this onto the next owner if they want it.

This car benefits from the Xenon head lights rather then the halogens. It has a full set of Genuine Land Rover mats and a load space mat. It has 2 keys, the handbook pack and a full service history to compliment it. Being the HSE it benefits from navigation, full leather, the wood trim on the dashboard, cruise control, Bluetooth telephone, etc.

My folks are only selling the car as after 7 years they fancied a change and have taken delivery of a Jaguar IPace. They are gutted to be saying cheerio to the Freelander as it’s been the most reliable car they’ve owned by a long shot.

The car is 14 years old so although it’s incredibly tidy, it does have a few things that need tidying if you wanted it to be immaculate:

Vents in the wings have a little peeling on them.
Wheels could do with being refurbished to make them 100% but they’re not that bad.
There’s a tiny hole appeared on the side of the drivers seat.
Usual trims in the wheel arches have started to separate and need replaced.

The car was MOT’d on 19th October 2021 so it has a valid MOT until 18th October 2022. The only advisory from the MOT was “Nearside Front Exhaust mounting defective” so it’s going to need the exhaust looking at/replacing at some point I’d imagine. Very occasionally if the throttle is at the right position when going up a hill there’s a slight vibration from this.

The car has sat for 3 weeks just now and when I moved it today to clean it, it was very slow to start and the engine management light came on. I had the codes read and it was low voltage codes that were stored. The battery is on charge at the moment but if it does it again I’ll replace it before it’s sold.

Car is located 17 miles west of Glasgow.

I'm taking this off sale at the moment...

In typical LR fashion it has decided to start messing around just as it was advertised. It's sat for a couple of weeks and when I went to move it the night before last it was misfiring and put the EML on.

Anyway, will likely be back up for sale once the issue has been resolved.
