Our beautiful Freelander 2 is now for sale, It has been looked after impeccably throughout its life, It has a full service history with Land Rover, and Land Rover specialists using only Land Rover parts. Its been fully maintained as per Land Rover Service Schedule.

It has only driven 83,000 miles, We have all past receipts and documents for the car. Its just had its MOT and annual service this week so it has over 12 months MOT currently, we have also just had the 7 year Cambelt, water pump, antifreeze change and auxiliary belt changed at the same time.

Over the years we have also has the Haldex system serviced and brakes/disks and brake fluid replaced as well as a new battery and Turbo actuator. We bought 4 Pirelli Scorpion tyres in 2020 but haven’t driven much since then so they are as-new. It has had new windscreen wipers as part of the new MOT.

The exterior of the car is stunning as you can see, sure there are a couple of stone chips and marks here and there but nothing horrific or noticeable as all, it absolutely gleams when its cleaned. It has privacy glass as standard and the alloy wheels are very clean as you can see.

The interior is pretty much immaculate, there are no rips, tears or marks on the leather seats and we have always had the rear seats covered with a Land Rover rear seat cover as we have two smallish children so they will be perfect, we also bought the side steps so they can get in and out of the car easily, which works very well. The retractable boot cover is available, it tends to get in our way so I removed it, but its in the garage, its clean and working and not damaged at all.

The infotainment system is really good with a powerful sound system and DAB radio/CD player and usb charger, It also pairs with your phone easily and has its own built in Sat nav. All of these controls are accessed by the steering wheel controls, which is handy when driving.

Driving the Freelander is honestly a dream, it is silky smooth and very powerful, it has the commanding driving position that is lovely and feels very solid when driving anywhere, the motorways are easy to deal with as the car is firmly planted on the road, there are 2 original keys as well.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the car, you will not have to worry about spending a penny on the car for many years, we have cherished this car which shows in its condition. In an ideal world i'd like an all electric Freelander 2!, but seeing as that's unlikely too happen we are looking to get either the Kia E Nero or second choice is the Hyundai Kona, although I'm sure we would be happy with either.

For the hawk-eyed, the white marks on the front passenger door are some sort of dried wax deposit and wiped away easily, and the rear mudguard has now been replaced as it was loose when we had the car valeted and needed a new bolt.

Good news if you get that price for it. Out of curiosity I put details of our 2013 plate on WBAC about a month ago and been hassled by them ever since. Original value was just under £10k, it dropped a little, at one point went up to £11k but latest price is back down to under £10k. By way of comparison, I was on a main dealer site and their px figure was up around £13k; this wasn't against a new LR but a second hand RR around the £25k mark; I was encouraged by that

Valuations seem to be difficult for everyone.

I considered a trade in with Kia but there is no car in stock that matches our requirements. The sales chap suggested £13k max against a car that may or may not come in, so I declined.

When I placed the ad on Autotrader, it suggested £14,984 or something near that, so that's what I went with. Actually if you put our exact spec into AT our car is the cheapest by a long way. Admittedly they are traders and the mileage is a bit less but they are without the 7 year cam belts, no privacy glass, cream leather, etc etc....

For someone that wants this particular car, its probably the cleanest and honestly maintained one available at the moment, which makes it harder to value as there is not much to compare with.

DGL, don't take it as a criticism of the valuation, indeed I'd be pleased from a personal perspective if you sell it for that

Looks fantastic, hope a lucky buyer comes along soon. If my numbers come up tonight, I may be round. My 2011 SD4 HSE is brilliant but would love a later one.....

Hi all,

I have taken slightly better photos of the car today, this time the parcel shelf and the mudguards are fitted and I have removed the seat covers and child seats. I have even taken the photos when the car was dry so potential buyers wouldn't confuse water drips from oil drips (Cheers Shiggsy!)

I have also taken a 19 minute video of the car, showing all aspects of the car in detail, Although I ran out of ideas on what to film after 15 mins!
