United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Orkney Grey

Sorry to jump onto this thread, but seemed better than starting a new, similar one. Just bought my 2014 FL2 and having the same issue - been advised that rubber mat set for 2013-2014 models are obsolete due to the short run of the new model. Parts stockists I've contacted haven't guided me towards the 2012 mats, saying something about the hooks in the footwell.

Will 2012 mats fit a 2014 model and be able to be hooked properly, or were there any differences with the mats for later models?

I have the earlier rubber mats in my MY2013

They are an exact fit on the drivers side, but on the passenger side the hooks do not align with the holes and mats just lie on top.
It has never been a problem and other than a slight irritation to my OCD tendencies and something you would probably never be aware of unless it was pointed out

The overall shape of the mats is identical

Steve

Thanks for that. Would have loved a set of perfect-fitting mats, but the driver's side is obviously the main thing. So if that's a perfect fit and can be hooked down, I think I can live with the passenger side being a little off!

Travall do full mat sets for 2013> for around £30, i find they are decent hard wearing quality, if not as heavy as genuine LR ones

I removed the hooks in the rear foot wells, even though they don't stick up much, they were still a pain in the neck when carrying water containers when camping.

If you want, just move the front hook to a new position. It's not difficult to remove the trim panels to get under the carpet, but you probably will need to get some new trim panel clips as they get brittle with age.

A list of trim panel clips in this thread in red text.

I use the mats retained from our 07 plate FL2 in our 2014 one. I just cut some small slots to accept the hooks- works fine. Jules

Hi, I just bought some carpet mats for £11 on Amazon. The quality is surprisingly good for the money and if they get messed up it only 11 quid.
