I am looking for a Freelander 2 HSE i6 to replace my Honda CR-V.

I much prefer petrol engines, which is why I'm on the lookout for an i6. I dare say some members will think me balmy for restricting my options and attempt to persuade me to change my mind. I may well be balmy but I also know what I like. My late father had two FL2s, both diesel, both bought new, one in 2007 and the other in 2010. They were grand cars and both he and I enjoyed driving them. But I still prefer the high octane stuff! My other car is a Jaguar XK, which probably has a similar thirst to the i6 engine ... depending on how you drive it!

In further evidence of my balminess, I really want an Alpaca interior. Furthermore, I would also much prefer not to have a black, grey or silver car. I rather fancy Tonga Green or Baltic Blue, in fact. Rimini Red or Nazca Sand would also do. So let's make this even trickier. I wouldn't half mind a later version, on a 57 or 08 plate and if it had the Premium pack that would be even better.

Inevitably just as I started looking an ideal candidate was listed as under offer and rather quickly sold. Since then the HSE i6s that have been and are for sale have exclusively had Ebony interiors and been black, silver or grey. Unless you know different? If so, please point me in the right direction and I'll be right onto it!

It is my belief that Tonga Green was one of the least popular launch colours, so it is a hard task I set myself. I dare say I shall have to compromise somewhere along the line. Or else be patient!

Someone has mentioned to me the possibility of changing out the interior from black to tan, but that seems like an awful lot of hard work. These folk in York have been recommended: https://theseatsurgeons.co.uk/

I'm not too sure about that, David. They would clearly need to be done.

No mention of carpet, for example, on their web site. It does look like they do door cards though.

Update.

I've put down a deposit on a Stornaway Grey HSE i6 with Tundra/Alpaca interior from mid 2007. Yep, a good old British compromise! As I mentioned above, I rather thought I would have to modify my wants if I was to get close to what I wished for!

It has done just over 100k miles and appears to have been well cared for. There are a number of accessories fitted, not all of which I wish to keep, the side steps being but one example.

Due to collect next Friday and, once I have done so, I shall post the photos.
