Sat nav flashes LR logo and HU doesn’t work

Hi all new to this Freelander stuff.
Just recently my sat nav just flashes LR logo over and over and my CD player doesn’t work.
I’ve read some topics that suggest it may be the ‘MOST’ optical ring but as I’m neither a mechanic or an electrician I dont want to start stripping my car
I’ve checked connections to the DVD player under my seat and removed and cleaned the disk ( it’s a 2007 disk would that effect it) I’ve checked fuses but as they have ‘power’ I presume they are working.
Anyone know how I can check/fix this problem or do I need to get it to a garage?

Many thanks in advance

Rob

Thanks I’ll give it a go
Is there any ‘dangers’ I need to be aware of

RD1 Relay

This is what is located where my RD1 relay should be according to the manual
Is this right? I’ve had the car 18 months with no issues so I presume it did the job
Would it be worth replacing this with a ‘proper’ relay?
If so can I just pull this out?

Thanks again

I wonder do you have the DAB system?

When I had the LR logo coming up I replaced the DAB Module with one from Skan Auto breakers about £60. That fixed it. I can't answer for the CD player though never used it myself.

Hi
I had a very similar problem - see "Novel Problem" a few topics down in the Electronics list. I managed to sort it, with help from this group of people on here!
I'm not a mechanic either, but the video link in one of the posts, and this forum, helped greatly. Have a look through the topic, I'll try to answer any questions, but it was much easier than I thought it would be. BTW none of the professional auto-electricians I tried wanted to take on the job!
Good luck!

Hello people
Update for you to hopefully help with please
I stripped the dash and hooked the ‘loop’ to the sat nav the cd front panel and the 6 cd changer
These are all the ‘most’ links I can find in the dash
None of them resulted in either the sat nav or cd/radio working just the same flashing
I’m gonna take the DVD player out tomorrow as I know that has a most link
Are there any other links for me to check?
If not any ideas how to proceed?

Thanks again

Bypass the Bluetooth module and see if that helps

Good luck

To quote myself

Quote:
The interesting thing is how the system reacts to the failure. It kept turning off and back on every 30 seconds or so. If you know what a watch dog timer is you will understand

It took 20 minutes but all is good again

Take care

Paul
