Cannot play music from iPhone while charging

Hi all,

I have a Freelander 2 2015 SE and one thing really bugs me.

My Bluetooth audio works fine when I am not charging my iPhone. However, when I need to charge it, I use the USB socket with an iPhone Lightning Cable going to my iPhone 2020 SE. When I connect my iPhone then the Bluetooth switches off and says "Bluetooth Audio is off. Please enable Bluetooth Audio in settings." I cannot find any such setting.

I am assuming that when it detects an iPhone then it instead wants to play my audio through the USB cable. However, when I go to 'USB' as my music source, it does not detect anything. Occasionally I get the error "Bluetooth Audio device has been disconnected. Connection of an Apple device via USB will disable Bluetooth Audio". Yet, it does not seem to be able to detect my iPhone in any of the source options.

Any ideas how I can fix this? Would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks!

You select “IPod” to play music through USB from phone.
“USB” is for music or video files via USB stick. MY15

Hey, thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately 'iPod' doesn't work either. Just says "No playable audio".

It does however say "Device Error" sometimes. Does it work for anyone else with a similar iPhone?

Only other thing I have found online is that I potentially need to have music downloaded in iTunes.

If your 100% sure your cable is working then it could be the USB interface as it has proprietary recognition circuitry.
You’ll need to replace the USB interface in the cubby. MY15

I was watching this thread with interest because I have exactly the same situation with the 2 iPhones I have owned. Likewise, selecting iPod did not help either

Perhaps try a different cable??
