2.2 3.5 big piston ring

Hi every Body hope you all had a good weekend
I have a 2007 Freelander 2 2.2 i have had a valve drop !! is this Cocommon ?
alsi i have a engine with top piston ring of 3.5 and been told it has been relpaced and shuld have a smaller top ring ?
when was the 3.5 top ring introduced

Likewise, I have been listening and rambling on here for years, first time I have heard of a dropped valve.
There have been a few (very few) with engines trashed by the flaps in the intake manifold breaking free and being ingested by the engine, and the odd one who has dropped a nut that has been taken into the engine with poor results.
Even snapped timing belts are rare, I think because they have a long life and people change them early as a precaution. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I had forgotten about the first one, the second is in Romanian - you have the advantage there Alex Very Happy Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

so the piston rings for this truck have been sent back and replacements on there way but have to come from Land rover
so at a stop Sad
Head rebuilt all parts hear so next week shuld be running

well second set of Rings where the same so back they went and off to the Enging builder and the right ones suplyed
Has enybody got the Big End torq setings
