Black lettering

The OH lost an argument with a railing and ruined the front bumper so I had a new bumper fitted but deciding to opt for the gloss black grill instead of silver.
I then thought I’d totally change the look so fitted gloss black side vents, tailgate strip and door handle skins. I’ve ordered gloss black number plate surrounds and am probably gonna get the mirror covers too but don’t know what to do about the bonnet and tailgate lettering??? I can’t see black lettering available anywhere so wondered what my options were or should I just leave it?
My SD4 is the Ipanema Sand colour

I did the same with the trim a few years ago (for the exact same reason too Rolling Eyes ), but left the lettering stock.

The letters *probably* are attached with adhesive, you might be able to verify that by removing the tailgate inner liner (you can't see the backs of the letters under the bonnet). If so you could pry them off carefully, get news ones and paint them before application.

The adhesive is probably pretty tough and there's a risk of damaging the paint in a manner that would be visible though.

I don't think you could do a good job painting them in situ, some of the gaps look too small to mask off.

also they have a video showing how to replace the lettering,
Where in Kent are you? DAVE.

I only used the black lettering for the rear hatch

I think what you have now looks fine

Plastidip & youtube.

And I agree with @p_gill, I like the way it looks right now.

Re. Plastidip, with enough coats and the right application procedure, it will last for years and can be easily touched up with a paint brush.

And it is very durable

Since you have a newer LR2 you already have the Black surrounding the fog lights

I need to Spray my side air intake (and the fake one on the other side) black with Plasti Dip

Re Dave47 , Im near Sittingbourne. Maybe I’ll just leave it then. TBH it’s more the OH that thinks it’s a good idea to have black lettering. Current: MY11 SD4 HSE / Sterling Quartz 2010 caravan

Going back to the start of it all, it was the OH arguing with a railing that caused the original damage. They were probably driving it as I can’t see them pushing it. Very Happy

I like "LANDROVER" on the bonnet now the other models don't have it any longer. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

She just popped down the road to the garden centre, came home crying…. I immediately drove her back to apologise to the centre owner🙄 Current: MY11 SD4 HSE / Sterling Quartz 2010 caravan

On my Disco 2 i filled in the "LANDROVER" on the rear bumper in red.
Looked good with the Zambesi Silver of the car. and a black bumper.
Tempted to fill the "LANDROVER" on the back door of the FL" in red although the black looks smart. Jim A

I wonder is there anyone that has shortened the rear FREELANDER 2 lettering to just LR2 ?
It would look less cluttered and has crossed my mind. Current: MY11 SD4 HSE / Sterling Quartz 2010 caravan
