Replaced original in 2016, so this one has only lasted 5 years and 50K miles. Usual, click from the engine bay but no motion. So out with the starter and on the bench. Small cover allows access to the solenoid plunger and what looks like two very worn copper contacts.
Exchange starters start at approx £100.
So onto e-bay to look for solenoid repair kits for an FL2 and guess what, there it is through REPAIRKITSUK.
All the bits needed at £17.65 incl postage.
10 minutes to fit the parts and back in with the starter and started straight away.
Thoroughly recommend this kit.

Used a similar repair kit on my FL1 a few years ago. Great fix, no more clicking😀. I am in need of a replacement starter for my FL2 ( see my thread ), I am going down the 2nd hand route, and will fit one of these kits in the replacement unit.

Yes carl is a good chap, had lots of different kits from him way back and did all the R40 and FL1 and FL2 we had.
