To fully access the hoses you will have to remove the front plastic bumper. You might be able to get some access by just removing the r/h front wheel arch liner forward panels. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Don't bother, the washers are a waste of time. They are simply there as a technicality for some countries. Then in other countries are marketed as an accessory.

In the Australian outback while filling up with petrol I clean windscreen & sometimes the other windows & front & back lights, with out own squeegee. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Is there a way to disable them? Find them rather annoying

@Grue

Remove the pink 30Amp fuse F24 in the engine bay fuse box to disable them. It will flag an error code if you do a scan but not an issue otherwise. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

I have one that isnt working but sadly because of EU/UK rules regarding Xenon lights i have to have both operating by law.
Its in for a big maintenance session shortly so will get him to sort it then.

If you have headlight washers fitted, then they have to be working. Otherwise, it's an MOT fail in the UK. Crying or Very sad Big Cry -------------------------------------------------------------

@oldseadog, luckily we’re not all in the UK & tied in to such strict MOT regs.

In Oz some of the states don’t even have an annual safety inspection! Rolling with laughter (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

if you have halogen headlights with washers, you can just remove the washer nozzles for MOT if they arent working. But if you have Xenon they have to have washers fitted and working regardless.
Not sure why as they pretty useless on every car ive ever owned

i remember back in the 90'S i had a Vauxhall Carlton which had little headlight wipers fitted along with washers, and they worked really well...... until they failed and then they were a right pig to sort Laughing
