[SOLD] 2009 Freelander 2 XS - okay nick with two sets of

Advert approval number: 210609-155

I have my 2009 Freelander 2 XS for sale, I've owned it for eight years and in that time it has only needed one rear bearing, otherwise just general servicing etc. 140,000 miles.

It's in reasonable condition, running etc with a decent MOT (10 months). That said it is fair to say that it's a bit of a project. A great project in my view - running, good tyres, mot, but it just needs lots of tinkering to bring it back to its former glory. See this video for an honest walk around:

Included in the sale are four original 17 inch wheels with legal tyres, along with the lovely 18s I've just put on. Also included is the new facelifted 2012 bumper (in primer) which is brand new a month ago from. POWERFULUK.

Included in the boot is a Britpart service kit, rear brake disks and two anti-roll bar droplinks.

Two remotes (one newly refurbished by Adam on this forum, the other works in the lock but the remote battery flat.)

Overall it is an honest car, would make a good second car or project.

Really sad to see it go frankly, but we've just lost a family member and we've inherited a BMW 435 which I'll keep as my daily driver, alongside my project Discovery 3.

Hopefully this will suit someone... WeEatAnyCar would pay £2350 with all the damage noted on it, I'd rather sell to someone on here for the same.... therefore £2350 buys it.

I'll be taking the private plate off shortly.

Any questions, reply here!

Hey all.

Andy (above) had a few questions that I've answered, no dibs yet though.

I'm keen to sell it now that I've taken hold of my new car today.

The offside rear shock is knocking a little, I reckon that'll need doing soon too.

Cheers.

Are car prices rising...? I have just re-run the valuation on WeBuyAnyCar and they'll now give me £3000. That's a good few hundred quid more than the first valuation (before I noted the damaged wing etc)

used car prices have risen dramatically over recent months due to the problems with buying new at the moment (parts and materials supply chains are struggling)

if i were you i would probably sell to WBAC now if they stick close to their new price, unless you would rather the car went to someone on here for your lower price. After all money isnt everything and its nice to know the car would go to a good home via here. Very Happy

Well I did send a pm asking for a phone number so I could speak further regarding the purchase of this car. Not heard a peep. I guess I know why now. Thanks for nothing. I will look elsewhere.

No attitude here, just facts, sent PM 4 days ago, no response, but time to post updated price today. Not a problem if the seller wants to maximise the potential sale price, just let me know and don't keep me hanging. I believe it used to be called common courtesy back in the day........

No offence intended Grimdog, I merely wanted to sense-check the value before I spoke with you. Frankly I have had little response to the advert, so I assumed that the price was going to be negotiated down, but when checking WBAC it has gone up. Thought maybe i should get group opinion. Anyway it seems that the second hand car market is a weird one right now.

The private plate is coming off this weekend, assuming I can get to Halfords to get new ones. In which case, it is ready for collection for a buyer or I'll do as seems logical and drop it to the WBAC place. If they want to overpay for it, who I am to argue!! I expect they'll knock me back a few quid at inspection though.

Regarding posting on here for consensus before sending you my number, I wasn't meaning to be discourteous.

All the best for your search.

I like the look of this, and it's in my budget, it's just a shame, I'm not in the market for an FL2 until march next year when I'm going to pass on my current car.

Sorry for the tease! The bumper upgrade makes it look way better!

So it has now gone, ended up taking a three week holiday and took it to WBAC today. They valued it at £2750 but knocked it back to £2379 for a few issues.

Chuffed with that, because I've got £250 for the wheels separately so that's about £2630 all in.

Sad to hand it over though, it's been a great car. I'm going to stick the cash into my Disco3 and keep fingers crossed I've made the right decision. I'm not holding my breath....!
