Cross purposes… I think Alex is referring to getting the actual screws out from behind the tailgate after they have been unscrewed where SYFL2 is asking how the screws are actually unscrewed without opening the tailgate…

Yes Reggie the screw heads are inaccessible until the tailgate is lifted. |

The video is quite clear in that a thin screwdriver can access the screws, and even worse if it’s a thief they will not have any qualms about forcing the screwdriver in the gap and damaging your paintwork as well! Regards

I didn’t see the video,so putting tamper proof screws in stops the light being removed but they won’t know there are tamper proof screws there so they would just trash your tailgate trying ? I suppose it’s some kind of bonus. |

First generation is also easy to nick in the same way, but being "classic", with bulbs, doesn't stir up interest.

They’re not inline I suspect they just trash the edge of your tailgate. |

In the video he didn't trash his tail gate. On that basis, I just went out to 'steal' one of my own lights.
