Doe's anybody on here actually know of any
rear light units having being stolen?
To my mind all the detail in this is somewhat irresponsible. Rolling Eyes DAVE.

some one has found a use for the plastic light GUARDS !!

well done Beavis Pits.

OT. I can remember the Disco 2 rear bumper mounted lamps being really easy to remove. You simply pressed them into the bumper and they popped out ! NO tools, NO damage.

Coming up . . . . .he'll show you how to 'not' steal expensive wheels and tyres. So if you're in the market for new rims, keep watching.

There's a woman on a Facebook Freelander group who's had two sets stolen within the space of a month.
£600 to replace.
The 'fix' to stop this being to change the securing screws to tamper proof torx head screws, with number plate washers with fixing covers.

I replaced my rear light cluster with the LED versions. The door/light cluster gap on my 2011 seems much narrower than shown in the movie don't know if its because of the replacements or if there was a facelift gap change

I started to but he was so boring I had to turn it off. What was the outcome BTW? Is it really easy to steal our lights? Should I be worried? There was a big issue made of Discovery 2 face-lift head light being stolen too at one time. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Put it this way Bob, I'm not rushing outside to fit security screws. The woman on Facebooks probably the victim of a local mobster. Obviously not a member on here.
Best go and check mine are still there Wink [/img]

I agree that the video is hideous long, as all Beavis's YouTube videos are - that's just the way he is. However he is bang on with his info & the size of screws etc.

I have decided to carry this procedure out as it seems sensible just in case job which would save me the cost & hassle of purchasing a new set of rear light clusters (how ever much they are from LR) All for the cost of shade over eight quid & ordered from the comfort my armchair Very Happy

Cheers

On the Russian forum there is a topic with over 95 pages about this, since late 2013. Confused
And various methods to prevent this... Wink
