Bonnet sensor

Hi team. Sorry to bother. Had the classic bonnet sensor failure on my 13 plate FL2.

I’ve shorted the sensor with a paper clip, and then electrical taped it. Will I be ok to drive it like this whilst I wait a few days to get it fixed?

I actually replace the switch, vice paperclip but that's for my wife's benefit. If it were just me the paper clip would be fine.

Growing up we never had hood sensors, the backup latch worked just fine.

Try looking at the bonnet catch behind the r/h headlamp. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
