slow puncture . . . but not from the tyre as such . .

has anyone had this happen before, I have what I thought was a slow puncture, pressure dropping down about 5 psi in a two week period. Went to Tyre Spot to check it out, they say its not a puncture, but it seems to be corrosion on the inner rear of the alloy which is lifting the tyre away from the rim a bit and expelling air Whistle Whistle Whistle . . . . I asked is there anything I can do, he suggested only a refurb of the wheel . . . . this of course could end up being all 4 redone . .

I run on the 19" HST alloys there is only one on ebay at the tight fisted price of £169.95 Rolling with laughter . . .even buying that may lead to the 3 other wheels being slightly different in colour

Is there anything out there to fix this leak ? I am thinking if I was agile enough to whip the tyre off and sand down the corrosion . . . .but thats not gonna happen

Even if you sand down the corrosion unless removed completely and then sealed it’s going to come back.

I did have a similar problem on my D2
after having a new set of rubbers fitted,
the fitter did deflate and gave the rim a light rub down and
I was luck as it held pressure..... overall the wheels were in
not bad a condition although I did have then refurbed and sprayed at a later date.
so it might be worth having a go at it.

I had mine refurbed for cosmetic reasons when it was at the body shop getting fixed after my wife backed into the neighbor's car... $400 USD and they looked brand-new and still look good four years later. Money well spent, bonus if it fixes/prevents a leaky bead seal.

Any tyre shop can stop that leak on the rim. Just ask them to use some bead sealer. (It’s like a liquid rubber - I use it all the time on corroded alloys/rusted steel wheels).
