LR specialist said camshaft was fine , high pressure pump? Surely there would be a noise from that of some sort?,

Doesn't sound like much of a specialist to me.
If the engine isn't turning over properly, then no amount of sensors is going to fix it.
How about the engine earth wire, is it damaged or corroded.

That is normal, i would query his knowledge if he's reporting that, find another specialist with a good reputation.
Whilst all the sensors were being replaced something changed as non of the sensors would affect the the engine speed on turn over, either an electrical fault on the starter circuit or possible over fuel and a partial hydraulic lock.
It's a diesel so if it's getting fuel at the correct time it should run, look at fuel and injector timing. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Hi,
Try a little further north in near Brandon, Norfolk. There is a Freelander guru there well worth a call/email. He's at FreelanderSpecialist.com

I had a turbo issue and he gave good advice, although to be fair not physically seeing your LR will make an accurate diagnosis difficult. I would go to a specialist, Freelanders are great but fickle.

Cheers.
