The physical shape if the floor never changed. My 2014 has 2 hooks to hold the mat on the passenger side and 1 on the driver's side. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Does anyone know of any mats that extend up the foot rest area on the driver's side? I find that I’m resting my left foot on carpet, not on mat, which rather defeats the purpose of them a bit.

Thanks. Funnily enough I’d seen that illustrated on a YouTube video by PowerfulUK but I’d rather have a mat that extended over that section if there was one. That screws that hold that plate are just screwed into the carpet.

I do not think anyone makes a carpet to cover the foot rest area. The plate that is shown does work and does not slip even though it is screwed to the carpet. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone

Thanks. I'd been coming to the same conclusion myself although I'm not mad about the alloy plate. Maybe a bit of carpet stuck down with Velcro might do the trick.

Hi

I use a square of thin rubber (part of a cheap universal rubber mat) to cover this area. It is pushed up under the central console and held under the floor mat. This way it covers where your foot goes as well as the carpet on the side.

I use Tuxmats (Canadian company) and they do exactly what you want. I did check their website but it looks like they don't make them for the LR2/FL2 anymore however.....

I would email them and ask them for a quote.......mine are worth every penny if you plan on keeping the vehicle.

Is this an auto problem most of the correspondents are auto owners, I admit I never kept my left foot in one position especially in cruise control, those with left hookers will have a problem with the right foot area my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

It’s not normally a problem for me but when driving from fill up to fill up I have been known to use cruise control and to rest my left foot on that spot.

Thanks for the ideas chaps. Tucking a piece of suitable shaped rubber in behind the centre consol trim and under the floor mat seems like a worthwhile idea. I’m not sure buying mats from Canada would be cost effective. Rimmer Bros are offering genuine LR mats in the correct colour for my car - Alpaca - for sixty quid which seems a bargain.
