Options vs Accessories

Have been reading through the MY13 price list to work out what extras above base spec my 2014 (14) GS SD4 has.

There are options such as a Clearview Pack and accessories such as tow bars. Are these all factory fit/supply or are some such as carpet mats dealer options ? I'm anticipating the insurance question "has the vehicle been modified ?", if it's Land Rover OEM part fitted by the supplying dealer could it be considered a modification ?

What do folk think ? LR2 SD4 GS

Factory fit options are definitely not modifications and as far as I know, dealer fit options like mats or tow bars are not modifications if fitted before delivery.

On my previous FL2 the dealer threw in a towbar and 13 pin electrics (and rubber mats to protect the carpet mats) - when I told my insurance company about that 'Modification' they said that as it was on the car when I took delivery, it wasn’t a modification as far as my insurance went. When I self fitted that tow bar to my current car with new ekectrics, again I told them and again they weren’t interested.

Same with the winter wheels... OEM rims bought from a former member of this forum, same size but different style to the factory fit - again, not interested in the rims or the winter tyres.

If in doubt, tell them - if it is not performance, handling or boy racer image related, they likely won’t be too interested.
