Replacement door mirror

I need to replace the right hand/driver’s side door mirror. It’s black, electrically adjusting, folding and with puddle light. The best price I can find online is from Eurocarparts at £188 with pickup at my local branch.

Has anyone any suggestions for a better price?

My neighbour reversed the FL2 into a wall, bending the mirror backwards towards the front of the car. OUCH !

I got a replacement off of eBay, but when I came to fit it, it would not fit flush ?? I then noticed the door frame was buckled around the three mounting points. (No other damage was visible)
I did manage to get it fit, but had that damage been repaired under insurance, they would have replaced and sprayed a new bare door and striped out window/lock mechanism to refit into bare door shell.

Simon, not sure if you’re sorted yet but noticed that these have them in stock. http://www.equicar.co.uk/updates.htm Not used them myself but seem to have a good selection.

Thanks, Dan. I’ll get in touch with them although they seem to just have colour coded ones on offer.

The front subframe for £75 is very attractive. I'm tempted to get one, as they can rust in strange places. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

They seem to be cheap for the parts they have. I only went on to see if they had a heated steering wheel Laughing Laughing

No, it's a genuine LR part, which was taken off a new but dismantled vehicle. Wink Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

You could ring Five Star Auto Salvage, they are in Ipswich, 01473 657077

They had an 07 plate in the yard a couple of weeks ago, I know as I got the passenger door. They are open to haggle and will post items. The door cost £60 which I though was quite reasonable especially as was in my Nazca Sand.

Thanks. I’ll try giving them a call next week. But what’s an 07 plate?

Registration plate... 'AB 07 XYZ' for example.

The '07' indicates that the car was registered between March 1st and August 31st 2007. Then ‘57' for September 1st 2007 to February 28th/29th 2008. See website below for mainland registrations...

Thanks for this but I really don’t understand why people don’t just give the year, then everyone would understand what’s being referred to.

Hardly a problem is it. As yours is an 08 thought the one they have might have suitable mirrors.

I appreciated the pointer and indeed my car is a 2008 model, but it’s not an '08 plate' - hence my query.

I guess the greater majority of FL2 owners on the forum are on the mainland and are thus just conditioned to the current year representation. The numbers either show the actual year for first half year (Mar-Jul) registrations or actual year plus 50 for second half year (Aug-Feb) registrations.

In from March 2051, a new system will be needed as the current one runs out at 50 / 00 but in the meantime, in GB you could have an 08 car with a 58 plate that is a 59 MY ... simple really Very Happy
