57 GS Radio Reception Crap

Owned the above car now for acouple months now. She's going well!

Is the FM reception known for being utterly crap in these ?? Where's the aerial and has anyone retrofitted a old skool aerial to the roof to improve things??

2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Firenze Red

My MY10 (59) car always had radio interference whenever the rear screen heater was on but was otherwise fine... I believe it was a fairly common issue.

The aerial is on one of the rear side windows (unused DAB aerial on the other side???) I think but not sure which side is which.
