freelander 2 boot opening

hi chaps, i wont bore you with too many details, but is there anyway of opening the boot from inside that doesnt involve the fob or front switches because for now there not working and waiting for a part, but currently saying boot open and none of the doors will lock, so need to open the boot and close it,
thanks.

Before I replaced my rear door switch a few hard bangs on the handle sometimes opened it.

Try searching ‘emergency release for rear hatch’.
Paul recently posted a modification which might help.

I was able to do it by pushing the latch mechanism to the starboard with a small screwdriver, You'll probably need a good light to see what you're doing. Starboard = pax side US, driver side UK.

Once open I replaced the latch mechanism, very easy and pretty cheap. Hardest part was removing the interior plastic liner but there's a tutorial for that on here and it's actually pretty easy too.

thanks for the replies chaps, normally id of tackled it myself but i just couldnt be bothered this time, so took it to the land rover garage over the road,(very handy) dont know how they did it but they did, and replaced the actuator, and the release catch as that hasnt worked for a year now, and also a new actuator/latch for the front N/S front door, everything is back to working as it should Smile
thanks.
