VIN parts

Am a bit confused by my VIN number part reference Trying to source an MAF but have just had trouble with the crankcase position sensor.

My VIN is SALFA23B18H075098

Now trying to sort out the correct crankshaft sensor from Rimmer Bros am confused.

They quote part number LR000681 https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-LR000681P1 as up to VIN AH999999 and

and part number LR056028 https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-LR056028P1 from VIN BH000001

So do I assume my girl is BH075098? If so part is LR056028 according to Rimmer Bros.

Problem is my sensor is definitely a LR000681

Is a 57 plate

Am also confused by numerals 18 appearing between the B and the H

Have a look at this link. It decodes the VIN number.

Hi

Yes have seen that and it equates obviously to the correct format which mine meets. My query was where do they get VINs of AH999999 and BH000001 from?

On mine ( 2011) it's the last eight digits of the VIN.

Looks like on yours you have misread the B for an 8?

Could that be it?

I doubled checked that and is definitely the number I quoted, same on V5 windscreen and door pillar.
Would def make sense if I had read the first digit of the last 8 as a numeral 8 and not letter B. Would make more sense if the 8 was actually an A giving last 8 digits as AH075098 this would put it prior to AH999999 with part number LR000681 which mine definitely is. And finally using the topix vin decoding figures the 8th digit from the end is the last digit of the year so cannot be a numeral.
All confusing.

As yours is 8H, then it's a 2008 MY vehicle, which requires LR000681, as that fits all vehicles before 9H999999. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project.

Have attached a photo of my VIN details from the windscreen This matches the format it should be.
So am still at a loss as to where Rimmer Bros and others get VIN number up to AH99999 and from VIN number BH000001 from.
I agree with you Nodge that the part number is the one you quote.

Where did you get your reference 9H999999 as all parts folks use AH and BH

..7Hxxxxxx - 2007
..8Hxxxxxx - 2008 <- your car
..9Hxxxxxx - 2009
..AHxxxxxx - 2010
..BHxxxxxx - 2011
..CHxxxxxx - 2012
..DHxxxxxx - 2013

xxxxxx are continuous, they don't reset every year.

They say AH999999 because they do not know at which xxxxxx that year (2010) ends.
Also they say BH000001 because they do not know at which xxxxxx that year (2011) starts.
So, in order to be sure they cover every possible xxxxxx in that year, they say 999999 (for ending the year) and/or 000001 (for starting the year)
For example, if I want to be sure to cover all cars in MY2008, I will say from 8H000001 to 8H999999. For sure your 8H075098 will be in that range.

You only need to look at the prefix 7H..up to..DH and place your car in the interval accordingly.

Choose the part for up to AH999999, meaning for up to MY2010 included.
BH000001 if for the part from MY2011 included.
