Alarm issues

Hi all,
I have an issue whereby the battery backed alarm keeps going off randomly, wether it’s locked with one press (perimeter protection) or double lock (volumetric)
I’ve searched the site and have since performed the following:
- hard reset (battery off for an hour) windows recalibrated
- Hood latch replaced
- BBS replaced with new genuine unit
- one of the dodgy window regulators renewed and calibrated

So next option is a deep diagnostic check before I randomly start replacing door locks.
GAP suggested I ask this forum if their IId device is able to read the last 10alarm triggers in the diagnostics (which I believe dealer level diagnostics can do)

So before I take a trip to dealers or invest in a Gap reader, does anyone know if you can read the last 10 alarm triggers with DIY tools please?

Muchos
Joe

Surely Gap would know if the IID can read the alarm activations memory. Shocked
I'm sure JLR SDD can read the activation history, I seem to remember seeing it when looking at the functions available. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Thanks all for the suggestions, yes Gap were unsure and pointed me here to the forum (I’m usually a landyzone cohort but this forum seems great too)
Hard reset didn’t work but thanks for the link,
I. Prices lock buttons inside on the door handle had a bit of slack, so I purchased a new lock and cable to see if it was this intermittently not making the micro switch.

I’ll post an update on results

Hi thanks for the suggestion,
No I haven’t taken that cover off-the fault is there on single click perimeter locking so the internal sensors should be deactivated.

I’ve just tried changing the drivers door lock and cable as they were a bit weak in operation-fault still randomly occurs.

Thinking allowed-is there a chance there’s a break in the door wiring loom perhaps? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

ok, well i removed the interior motion sensors and gave them a blow, cleaned connections and reinstalled - still had a random activation last night.

Could anyone kindly plug their nanocom or IID BT tool in and see if they have the menu option to review last 10 alarm activations please?

Landrover want £150 to plug in and cant guarantee they can see last alarm activation reasons, so id rather take the punt on a better diag tool if needs be than the general odb2 phone app that i have been using.

thanks if anyone gets the time to look Bow down

Better look for someone with SDD (dealer tool), because, I believe, neither IID nor Nanocom can read the last 10 alarm sources...
But I may be wrong and the last updates fix this shortcoming...

i had a dodgy drivers door lock also and a random alarm activation - i replaced the door lock and haven't had the alarm since now thinking about it.. my scanner foxwell 530 or something was reading internal motion sensors - maybe i just haven't double clicked the alarm since getting a new door lock?
anyway there is a very helpful thread on landyzone for SDD in the general section - just need to get yourself a Mangoose - yes mangoose rather then mongoose cable lol Stewart

Thanks for the ups guys, can’t believe Dealers want £150 for a diagnostic these days!

Things come in threes and maybe not a coincidence-the SRS air bag and seatbelt light flickered on and off today a few times and are now on permanently...

Thinking earthing issue somewhere now... where to look!!

My local Indy ran it through his diagnostic machine
It pointed to “passenger door”
After inspection the rear door inner lock switch was not moving fully closed when locked-so the alarm system kept seeing an unlocked/opened door randomly.

Hope this helps someone, check your little black locks inside are moving fully open/closed if you get similar issues
