If you use the search you'll find half a dozen previous posts on towing mirrors, worth a read.

I use milenco grand aero mirrors. I have never got round to changing the standard pads for the recommended Freelander type but they work perfectly well as they are and have stayed in place for a 2000+ mile journey down to the med coast in France and back. Another recommendation for the milneco grand aero mirrors. fit a treat, quite stable and field of rear vision and don't interfere with main mirror adjustment and can stay attached when the mirrors fold. I can't be a 100% sure but I think I did buy the slimmer mounting pads for them, it was a long time ago now. 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep

Sorry, can't recommend any particular manufacturer. But in 2017 I collected from Maastricht in Holland a 7m twin axle caravan and towed it to Costa Brava in Spain, on a one way, one off journey. Bought extension mirrors from Halfords..they fitted but was not happy with the security. A couple of bungy straps of the right length more than secured the mirrors without vibration.. Don't sweat it...get bungies. |

Milenco Aero here - tear drop shape. I too bought the V shape clamp pads but after trying them once, went back to the standard flat pads.

I've been using Suck'n'See mirrors for some years and never had a problem with them. Easy to fit and adjustable from the driving seat. Available in flat or convex. |

another vote for milenco clamp on. This week I obtained and fitted the v pads. They do seem more stable. Previously I had the mirrors clamped to the bottom edge. But I have now used a pipe bender to put a bend in so they now fit properly along the curved top edge. |

These are what I use - more than happy and like the fact they remind me of old series or Defender mirrors.

going to be controversial here - i have a set secure well on the Mirror - cant mind what make, they have rubber straps that go round the housing, never use them they are a distraction. shakey image takes my eyes off the road too long, I would rather concentrate on reading the road than trying to figure out what is, or is not in that extra foot i can see behind me.

Towing without mirrors is ok. But here in the UK we have to fit them by law when towing a normal size caravan. |
