I keep a litre of screen was and a litre of coolant in mine, along with my tow rope coiled on the spare wheel. I've also got a few bulbs, a spare crank sensor and a small socket set under the boot floor.

All I carry is a tow rope and a battery jump-start pack, I've only ever used them to help other people out. I also carry my trusty Nanocom and an Autel AP200 just in case.

You're on a forum dedicated to a specific make of vehicle, it is only normal that issues, problems and faults will be discussed, as will practical advice and assistance on how to resolve many issues.

Basically it's a Landrover it can have a variety of niggles but despite various surveys of unreliability it will almost certainly get you home, if the question was asked "has your car broken down" the Freelander 2 will be in the top 5 reliable cars, if it can't get you home then nothing you carry will help unless of course your just in case spares and tools don't allow room for passengers.

I carry a 10mm spanner for battery reset, and that's about it. |

Road service is too far away in Australia. Toilet paper. Spade (for digging car out). Hand wipes. Jumper leads (old welding cable repurposed). 175amp Anderson plug next to battery as I got sick & tired of jump starting others. Auxiliary battery to self jump start (never needed). 6m tow rope plus 20m extension (have helped others). Sand tracks. Solar panel to charge battery. Compressors for tyres, pressure gauge (3) & repair kit (used a lot). TPMS to prevent destroying a tyre (priceless). Spanners & sockets. Fuses & spare headlight bulbs. DC clampmeter / multimeter. Wire, cable ties, rope, tape etc. Spare M6 bolts for roof rails & M10 bolts if M6 breaks in M10 adaptor. Multigrips, pointy nose pliers (for removing screws in tyres), parrot wire cutters (mostly for old fence wire caught under car). Hacksaw. Flat & round files. Drill. Angle grinder. Torches & head torches. Squeegee, Wettex, soap etc. Brush & air gun for compressors (cleaning) & water gun (cleaning). Builders gloves (2 pairs). Fluro safety vest (2). 2.4m pole for visibility flag. Large plate for car jack & blocks of wood. Face masks for smoke from bush fires (before Covid was a thing). Spare air & oil filter. 2 spare wheels (1 is not enough). Ground sheet if I needed to get down on muddy ground (small tarpaulin). Spare fuel. Spare water. 2 fire extinguishers. Bucket (kitchen sink replacement). Fridge for beer & refreshments, after repairing flat tyres etc! Chainsaw! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device! Acoustic insulation ARB TPMS 3xARB air compressors After cooler Air tank On-board OCD pressure air/water cleaning Additional 50L fuel Carpet in doors ABE 2x1kg Waeco 28L modified fridge Battery 4x26ah Solar 120w Victron MPPT 100/20 DC-DC 18amps 175amp jumper plug Awning 6x255/60R18 |
