Freelancer 2 front shocker and springs replacement

I'm going to replace the front two shocker and springs, should I buy landrover or aftermarket been looking at rimmers and bearmach they stock both genuine and aftermarket, will the aftermarket ones be OK or should I bite the bullet and go for genuine parts

Not sure about your model year but I thing KYB or Bilstein could be OEM.

As above , KYB,Bilstein or Sachs , avoid the cheap stuff and Britpart .

Neither, Delphi (now BWI) supplied the dampers for all years.

Recently fitted the yellow Bilstein B6s all round transformed the handling. Make sure you clock the top mounts correctly not the easiest f jobs

I take it that the Bilstein B6's have only recently become available as I've looked in the past for uprated shocks for the FL2 to no avail. Where did you get them from and how much if you don't mind me asking?

I just installed B4 all around, nice ride just a hair stiffer than stock.

B6 will be significantly stiffer, unless you're doing a lot of off-road they will probably be a bit much.

Definitely stiffer but not in a bad way, they have transformed on road handling and removed the standard vague wallow of the factory set up. We live a mile up a rough track and must admit the Bilsteins are less forgiving of deep ruts etc but on road the ride is much more controlled and confidence inspiring. I can never understand why Land Rover never offered a Sport setup for the Dynamic models

I replaced all 4 shocker last year {Bilstien}approx £450 on line. Springs were OK, made a hell of a difference much better ride and handling.
Took me the best part of the day, the rears I also replaced the top mounts. The front top centre nuts were very tight.
