Asking Price Advice for 2009 HSE Auto

Finally taking the plunge and selling my FL2. Prices seem a little high at the moment so I thought I would ask for a little price advice before listing it. It's a 2009 HSE Auto, 96500 miles with good service history. In the last three years it has had a reconditioned diff, throttle body, water pump and cambelt change and a new set of glow plugs. I have all the receipts. MOT till June with the next service due in September. Brakes are all good (front discs and pads replaced about four months ago) and it has General Grabber GT's all round with plenty of tread left on them. Bodywork and interior are excellent-the odd minor stone chip but nothing major. It is metallic silver with alpaca interior which is pretty rare. It drives really well-I have had 4 FL2's over the last 10 years and this drives as well as the 4 year old one I used to have. No rattles or whines, the auto box is super smooth and kicks down instantly when asked and the engine pulls well. I have set my heart on a HSE Lux so no turning back now and the only reason I am selling it. I was going to ask around £6000 for it. Opinions would be much appreciated as you guys know the market better than anyone. Not sure why the image has inserted rotated but you have all seen FL2's before!!

Mine is a 2007 HSE with 166,000 miles, autotrader thinks its worth this : -

I would try and sell it for £4250 Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter . . . .I have had it just over 4 years and paid £5250 back then, still drives superbly, been looking myself at getting a newer one, but may not bother.

Autotrader free valuation is a good place to start

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars

Then look at the adverts on the site to see what others are asking. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Many thanks for your feedback. WBAC came back at £5600 a few weeks ago. I was quite surprised at that valuation. I don’t think there is much they can chip the price down on but I am sure they will find something!

I forgot to say-Autotrader pricing is coming in a little lower than WBAC and the trade. When I last checked on Autotrader mine was valued at £4400-at the same time WBAC offered £5600. This is partly why I am unsure what it is worth-that is quite a big difference. I was offered £5000 as a trade in at an independent Land Rover dealer though.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Barolo Black

Having read this thread I thought, I'll get a valuation on Autotrader for my car.

2010 TD 4 HSE 154k. Autotrader valuation, private sale £3850 / px £2790.

I bought the car last August (2020), at what I thought was a good price £4500, considering that it needed the 10 year service doing. I couldn't find anything at a better price \ condition at that time.

However I then did a specific search for 2010 HSE TD4 on Autotrader.

Cheapest matching car on Autotrader 2010 HSE 134k miles £5750

Most expensive 2010 HSE 65k £12599.

I don't think I would be putting much credence in the Autotrader valuations.

I would suggest researching the marketplace, seeing where your car fits in, and price accordingly.

I sold my late 2010 facelift TD4 GS with about 87k on the clock, full service history, cam belt etc all done, reconditioned diff and a clutch and flywheel a couple of years back. Some marks on the paintwork, various marks on the alloys.

I got about £4200 with WBAC. Their initial estimate was higher but it did have cosmetic blemishes once inspected in person. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…
