United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red
Throttle pedal not responding for 5 seconds after starting,

So after much work sorting out many previous bodges and incompetent work on my 2009MY TD4 manual box SE, he was ready for his MOT.
It still has a slight misfire under heavy throttle, which is more pronounced when cold, but otherwise its driving fine.
So this morning I drive him to the MOT, stopping at CoOp for milk on route.

On returning to the car, the engine started just fine, however when I went to pull away, I discovered that throttle didn't respond on the first, second or third press. After which it responded, although it now feels like there a slight delay between pressing the pedal, and the engine responding, not much of a delay, but noticeable to me.
This is a new fault, which I've not encountered before.

Hopefully the MOT goes ok.

Any ideas as to whether this is a common issue, and if so, what is the cause.
Obviously I could do with some good behaviour from him, after many months of repairs and undoing the dozens of bodges I've found.

Thanks in advance. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I used to get that on mine if I stuck it in gear too quickly after starting, almost before the starter motor had disengaged! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Present: Audi A3 S Line.
