I have recently brought a Freelander 2 and am looking for a Dog Guard for the Boot.

I ideally want one that has a door so as to stop my dog from jumping out when the boot is opened, the best one that fits this description is the official Land rover one. I currently have nothing in the back so need both the guard and partition with door if possible, however happy with just the partition as the guard is easier to get hold of. If anyone has a good alternatives available i would consider other brands.

I've got the full length LR dog guard and the half divider with the door. Managed to pick up both on here from a fellow member, which saved a few quid as they are £££ to buy new! I would recommend it, particularly for a single dog, as you obviously still get half of the boot space to use for storage.

If you're not fussed about that though, Barjo do a full dog guard that sits just behind the tailgate, which prevents them from jumping out when you open the boot.

TRAVALL now do guards, dividers and gates for most models, they are reasonably priced and good quality

OP wants a guard that will stop his dog jumping out of the boot when you open the tailgate though, and I don't think Travall make one of that design. To my knowledge, only the LR one and the Barjo one have doors across the tailgate - unless you buy a proper dog crate like a TransK9 or similar.

your correct Matt, just checked and they don't make the gates for the freelander 2 although they do for plenty of other makes. Its a very clever design as well but a shame they don't make them for FL2
