My mother's been invited for hers tomorrow - the GP practice are running a special clinic for the elderly housebound on their books. Perhaps after we've got her there, they'll flag her as not housebound Wink

An absolute legend but the irony being (according to the Mail) he contracted CV in hospital. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I thought he went into hospital BECAUSE he contracted CV. He was being treated for pneumonia at home.

Wouldn't believe anything the Mail says... Steve

I can't help feeling that Capt Sir Tom Moore would prefer us to do something more useful than standing in the cold clapping at the behest of Boris.

For some to stop being uncaring dolts and start considering the consequences of their actions would be nice. Jules

Cant understand when everyone's banging on about lockdowns, staying home, keeping our elderly safe, why anyone thought it a good idea he should go off to Barbados, even though he did apparently test negative upon his return

At 100 he knew he only had a slim chance of making it to 101 so when an opportunity to visit somewhere he always fancied going to presented itself he took it. Risky yes, but at his age a risk worth taking in my opinion.

Climbing Everest is not a good idea but many do as its on their bucket list and accept the risk. Jules

Copied from a MotorHome site.

"Be very aware, I just collected my 640 from Lowdhams Newark where I took it for habitation check and service yesterday. On the way home to Northampton I was stopped by the Police and explained the reason for my journey. my wife and I were immediately issued with a two hundred pound fine each as the Police said that this was not an essential journey even though I explained that I would lose my warranty if the hab check was not carried out. It has turned out to be a very expensive service."

Hmmmmmmmm ????

.... and before anyone asks .....

again, copied from a motothome site,

"MoT this morning, 7 a.m. at South Gloucester Yate testing station a week passed the 6 month extension date. Pass with no advisory thank you. On the way home police pulled me over just after 8 a.m., "are you on an essential journey", "yes just had an MoT", "oh yes at this time in the morning", "yes sir here is the certificate". I completed the interview with as I keep it on the road to comply with the law I have to keep it road worthy, hence the MoT. I don't but felt a bit smug in saying so. We parted our ways. So glad it was not a failure! Impressed by mask and gloves the PC was wearing. Be safe everyone."

"That is perfectly legal providing you are taking a direct route to the MOT station and it’s pre booked."

Better ......

There is an old joke :-
In heaven the mechanics are German, the cooks French, and the police English.
In Hell the mechanics are French, the cooks English and the police German.

Looks like we are going to hell in a hand cart. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Police have handed a £10,000 fine to the organiser of a church meet-up in a pub car park.

Seems the Church group had previously been warned about meeting in car parks by the Police - organiser didn't seem to think that a pub car park would be included.
How stupid are these people?
