I'm pretty sure most of you already knew this but...

You can run the compass on the Nav as a ScreenSaver.

Most car I owned had this feature built into the rear view mirror and I missed that on the LR2.
After reading the manual a bit more, I came across the info that explains how to run it on the Nav.

Can you change it from Heading Up to North up mode at all? How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Yes you can Tim, just touch the upper left icon and this should do it.

I`m sure I read, but now can`t find out where, that you could put a world map with your position on it up as a screensaver. Is this correct, or did I dream it? Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!
