There have been problems I believe with the end of the camshaft which drives the pump breaking off. See here

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but this happened mine, high pressure pump, low pressure pump, 3 injectors and a handful of sensors later and it still aint running right, but at least is drive-able and the wife cant tell... I blame the previous owner runnign cheep fuel.

Thanls for the answer. You are right. I decided to change the high pressure pump with a new one and not a remake. The system also needs also a cleaning procedure which puts an additional cost. I have no choice and I hope that it will work. |

look after it with decent fuel, the modern diesel engine is so highly tuned it needs top grade fuel, avoid high bio content fuel as well. long gone are the days where you could throw in your used chip pan oil..

The thing is that I used most of the times Shell V-power diesel, but sometimes I used the cheaper one of Shell. Thanks anyway. |
