Tailgate open

Went and parked on the beach today and had tailgate open but he dash and interior lights stayed on in the rear compartment
Is there a way to have it all turn off and keep boot open?

Cheers

Boot & footwell lights go off after about 5 - 10 minutes.

We have taken those globes out for camping. If we are around the car we just close the doors to the first notch so as not to wake up the car's computer every time you open a door from fully closed.

Easy!

We generally sleep in the car, at night we lock the car by reaching forward to either of the front doors & manually lock. Then one can sneak out at night for number ones etc! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

We turn the ceiling lights to the fully off position.

We have a handful of Olight LED torches, 2 x H1R warm white, R40 (now R50) & S30R (this one is slow to charge). They last a long time & are easy to charge (I did buy spare rechargeable batteries for all torches but have never needed to swap them). Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Take the boot globe out. It's in a useless position anyway. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

If I'm understanding it You cut a 27 x 3mm disk to offset plug and then clamped it with the T handle supplied with the plug

Where do you get the staggered 2 pin connector to suit the existing plug?
Cheers

The disc is a spacer & key to fill the hole, & another piece of 3mm to keep the Anderson plug a bit off the panel so it is easier to plug into. The T handle was the simplest solution at hand, just drilled another hole in it to position it better.

The 2 pin plug from Jaycar, male & female set. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

My trunk light goes off with all interior lighting sometime after the 10 minute mark. Or, it goes off after.............what I am sure of, it goes off even if the boot/trunk is open.

The later Freelanders are wired up differently. Power sockets & lights turn off at various times.

The problem with the car, everytime you unlock the car or open a door from fully closed, the car goes through its activation cycle.

Not good if you are remote camping. You would be shocked just how many time you open a door if you are camping next to it. That's why we leave the doors not fully closed.

I have seen quite a few modern cars in the outback which have needed to be jump started in the morning. Most likely because of the above situation. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
