United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Fuji White
No longer wanted, found one!

Good morning. With the current restrictions it’s probably not the best time to be looking but I’m not in any rush so thought I’d put something out there and see what happens.

It’s a long time since I’ve posted on here as I’ve not owned a Freelander for a couple of years. I’ve missed my last one ever since it went!! I’ve been looking casually for a few months now at what’s around but nothing has ticked all the boxes. I’m after one that will be a second car and a bit of a keeper. I want it for going out into the Peaks and Dales for weekends away kind of thing. As I’m not in a rush I want to be fairly specific. Prices from dealers seem to vary massively and are pretty strong but when you look at what the part ex value or private sale value is of the ones that are for sale the dealers are adding a fairly chunky mark up!

I thought I might get what I’m after with a private sale here rather than run the risk of going through a dealer and buying something unknown.

So what am I after? The list below is my minimum requirement:

• 2014 model so only 14 or 64 plates
• Average mileage so 60-80,000 I guess or lower! Certainly no higher
• Black leather interior
• Armrests
• Full Service History. Not necessarily LR but an independent rather than a local garage, the more history the better!
• It would be nice to have had the Cam Belt changed already.
• Nav and Meridian Sound.
• Heated front screen
• Colour, I’m not really particular about. Blue though ideally but would consider anything.
• Well looked after and good condition.

I’d also prefer a sun roof if possible as well.

I think from reading what I have written I’m looking at a minimum of an SE Tech. My budget is around £12.5k for the right car. I’ve seen a few SE Techs at garages for around £11k so I think the money is about right. In an ideal world I would love a Metropolis but these seem to be around £14-15k at dealers so probably way over £12k privately but I might stretch for the right car.

Thank you!!

Hi Gundog,

I would love a Metropolis and would definitely stretch the budget for the right one, but looking on Autotrader there are some in the £20k area which is just way too much!!! I have seen a few for around £14k from dealers so if I could get one privately for £12k I would consider it. My old one was a HSE Lux and I loved it.

Hi,
might be worth editing the title of your original post for "Wanted" and "2014" Question

My GS has everything but the satnav (its not for sale just saying Laughing ) so I would look at all specs just in case.

And your missing the all important, prefer the more desirable Manual gearbox Whistle

Happy hunting and agree dealers do seem to vary greatly

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

bear in mind that the HSE Lux and the Metropolis are exactly the same specs, but the Lux doesn't sell for the near the same price as a Metropolis. (like for like age etc)

River Blanche,

Whoops good spot I must have deleted that somehow!!! To be honest I don't mind manual or auto. I've had both in the past so would consider either. Spec is more important. I compromised with my very first one and shouldn't have done so I'll stick to my guns this time..........

I don't mind HSE Lux at all if there are any with a 2014 plate or any model really with the right spec and importantly the right money!

Mines out then as it is on a non age related plate.
being registered in October 2013 it got the 63 plate.

It is off to the dealers for sale now.

And unlike the majority for sale I am not replacing it
I am emigrating in Feb and cannot take it with me or I would
having purchased it at 6k miles.

good luck with your search

I am looking to upgrade my 08 and keep looking at the 13 and 14 s with the newer style interior but they seem to be crazy money compared to a 12 plate are they that much better ?
What else changed for the 14
Sorry for the hijack but it should keep your post at the top

Night and day better all round
I sat in the new one at the dealer then tried the older type I got out after 30secs as it looked and felt ancient in comparison.

Sorry Dan for thread hijack

And finally my car is now sold the dealer whom was selling it for me has made a very good buy it in offer
when I said I had found a buyer myself.

He is selling it for 14995 now . nice 1995 profit margin.

That’s ok! Not quite meant to be with V4OTC’s but pleased he’s done ok with it. Teaches me to respond quicker. So to summarise would happily consider the right car if it’s a 2013 model and above!

For £10k I think you are going to struggle to find a tidy example.
