Why do you need to replace the complete hose if its just the clip that has broken.

Where did you find the reference to the "crankcase breather filter"? There is no (crankcase breather) filter per se...

After oil separation in the lower separator, the "clean" air is mixed again (!) with some oil vapors from the above camshaft cover and then inserted in the intake manifold.

The oil in the intake is there by design, and serves a useful function, as already said above.
