A friend of mine has a 6 month old XS which his wife drives most of the time (well you would let her, wouldn`t you, if you had a Porsche to play in - until it snows of course!).

Seems like it is not a known problem then. I have heard of older type Land Rover steering boxes blowing seals, and my MOT man was always careful not to hold them for long on full lock when testing. I can`t imagine that a current system would suffer the same fate - could it? Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly! |

To complete the story - FL2 went in for a new pump - No different. The Dealer had to order a new rack which is now fitted and the problem is gone.

Hey nicam did your friends steering feel 'notchy' when cold? Cos that's what mine is like.

Sorry Snappa, didn`t see your question until I dug this topic up again because the steering has gone heavy again on my friends FL2, awaiting investigation again. Very strange!!

Mine went in for a 15000 mile service last month. Whilst in there they checked the bottom swivel joint in accordance with a service notice they had and found it needed replacing.
