Headlight upgrade

Powerful UK have just released a You Tube video where they show an upgrade of the headlights, they have created a loom to convert the pre-facelift loom to a post facelift so upgraded lights can be fitted.

Many thanks CJ

Unfortunately although the later headlamp may look "more modern", many feel it is a poorer design; the beam is not as good as the older lamp and also the bulbs tend to over-heat, resulting in short lifespan, and then you risk loosing both the main and dipped on the same side as its just one bulb.

A conversion to HID would be better.

Some owners of the later lamps are upgrading to better HID or LED bulbs. Jules

these "link-looms" have been around for a while from other sources,at a cost of £250 !!!

read this thread.
https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic32902.html?

One guy set about re-wiring the internal wires of the headlamps, rather than buy links.

I did the lamp change on my 2009.

But, being a true engineer, I didn't change the connectors, I didn't pay for a 'link' ............. I changed the internal wiring of the lamp housing. It did take a bit of time ........ well worth it.

There is always 'another way'

.
