Cabin filter change

Thought I would change the cabin filter today, it’s a bit of a pain to get to, tucked behind the centre console on the passenger side. Can be accessed by removing the fuse box cover and undoing a flap with three clips. Old filter was filthy and full of rubbish, glad I did this, I think the car should smell better and at least I know I am breathing cleaner air whilst driving 😷😎

Takes a bit of manoeuvring to get the filter back in, took my time and flexed it into the housing. Be aware there is an air flow direction, arrows point from engine to cabin. Pictures show the state of the old filter.

Getting a decent carbon filter that flexes reasonably, is the key to easy removal and insertion ( Very Happy ) otherwise, glovebox removal is needed.

I always remove the glovebox. Still a fiddly job, sooner or later something on the glovebox is going to snap

If you take off the battery cover & shine a torch into the air intake you will be surprised by the amount of muck which builds up this end.

If you take off this trim panel, the amount of dust in here is a shocker. The cabin filter is only getting what's left of the dust.

Hi,
another vote for removing the glovebox (well just the glovebox lid really) its the shock absorber spring thing you have to be a bit care full removing Confused

As you have now replaced the pollen filter how about setting off one of the AirCon cleaner/freshner tins about £10 ish

Have done it on cars when first bought, not sure how long it actually lasts but smells nice for a while and makes me feel better Laughing

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf
