Thanks Alex , that's very interesting ![]() Maybe the part that has liquefied in the horizontal induction pipe isn't so useful though (despite other vapour usefully continuing n)?? I worry that once I fix the leak, the oil will now run down to the turbo and gum it up? Maybe I am worrying too much I don't know. My thought was that if I add an oil run off at the point in the horizontal pipe where it gathers then I can stop oil running down to the turbo (where in the past I have also observed seepage). The intentional vapor would still continue unaltered. What do you think - is it worth bothering? |

Our Freelander has just done 108k miles I am planning a similar install on our 2.2 TD4, will add some pictures when I get around to doing the install (when it warms up). I also plan to remove the swirl flaps blank the EGR and swap out the glow plugs for some fresh ones whilst I have the inlet manifold off.

Just to add to this I have also brought a second inlet manifold to remove the swirl flaps so its a quick swap out for the old unit |

Well that was actually quite an enjoyable modification to make I tried to make it look as factory as possible, made a custom bracket and modified the air box to accomodate using a collection of nuts bolts and washers.

I don't think I could resist having the occasional look in the can long before October '21! Given the amount of oil seeping out of the junction after my organ pipes, the can could be full in no time! |

Considering the above said, shouldn't your oil consumption, up until now, point to that?
