How does it fit?

Does anyone know why the spike is underneath?

There are only 2 holes in the centre console and they are both in the middle, not near the spike. Big Cry Discovery Sport Hse Lux, Santorini Black, Ivory Leather Interior, Factory Privacy Glass, removable tow bar.

Just fitted the sliding cover/lid assembly to my 09MY HST, the spike goes into a matching hole moulded into the console, maybe my motor has an early modified 2010MY console as the lid seems to be already fitted to the 2010MY HSE as standard.
